Open Studios of the Scenic Rim

Studios operate twice a year in May and September across 5 trail areas of the Scenic Rim from the rainforest environs of Tamborine Mountain, Canungra, and Beechmont to Mt Barney and Boonah in the west.  Appointments can also be made outside these times direct with the artists to view their work. Artists Collective

An Artists Collective is an existing group of artists who work or exhibit together or a group that has come together specifically for the Open Studios program. An artists collective is more than a single artist. Where 2 artists share a studio space, the collective should be known by their respective surnames. Eg Halpin & Martyn Studio.

The artists collective has one person who represents the collective, one contact phone number and email address for correspondence, and one contact responsible for payment of the registration fee. The collective also will be based in one location where the artists will be showing their work.

One fee will be charged to the artists collective to participate in the program. It is the responsibility of the collective to pay the fee in its entirety as one payment to Scenic Rim Regional Council. A split bill is not possible.

Applications will be assessed by a jury and short-listed studios will be visited to ensure the quality and safety of the studio experience.  Selected artists and collectives will be notified in June 2010.  Production of the studios guide and marketing materials will be finalized in  July 2010 in preparation for the September  2010 Open Studios.
