CONFIRMED DATES for the 2010-2011 round of Open Studios Weekends of the Scenic Rim.
Invitation is extended to all current and interested artists and businesses of the Open Studios Program to attend an evaluation & future planning dinner meeting at The Centre on Thursday 10 June @ 6pm.
Artists and collectives of artists are advised that the closing date for applications for Open Studios of the Scenic Rim 2010-2011 round has been extended to Monday 14 June [Queens Birthday public holiday].
EIGHT Boonah artists are the final installment in the Council’s Studios of the Scenic Rim project, designed to provide an insight into how the region’s artists approach their craft. The Boonah Butter Factory along with Helen Bartley & Katrina Dobbs studios will be a hive of activity this weekend (May 29 and 30) as some of the town’s leading artists paint, sculpt, dye and draw new creations.
MT BARNEY artists will open their studio doors to the public this weekend (MAY 22 & 23) as part of the Council’s exciting Studios of the Scenic Rim project.
CANUNGRA communities will be showcasing local art on Saturday & Sunday 15 & 16 May and Beechmont artists will gather on Sunday 16th as part of the Open Studios of the Scenic Rim project.
A LOST World Olive Grove will become an open-air art studio on Mother’s Day when a group of Scenic Rim artists lead workshops in their craft as part of the Studios of the Scenic Rim program.
INTERNATIONALLY-renowned mask artist, Mike Taylor, will reveal how he creates his unique leather masks during an artist-in-residence at Songbirds Rainforest Retreat in May.
